Pinning Cold Steel Norse hawk head

Hello all,

I have done a few trail and pipe hawks which I have always done as friction fit. However, have my first norse hawk and the top point is above the top of the handle.

A) any suggestions for pinning the head? I don't really like the setscrew, wanted something like a real screw or a metal slug/roll pin.

B) if I want to try throwing this, would I be better just doing it as a friction fit?

Thanks for any help!

Anything wrong with installing a wedge or pin behind the head to keep it in place rather than something directly through the head? Or how's about a removable sleeve to choke up on the head?

I am interested in the removable sleeve idea. How would you do that? Anyone have examples/pics?

As an update to this post - just saw a youtube video review of the norse hawk and the guy there was doing friction fit with no issues chopping etc and put it back on using a stump. So maybe friction fit would work for this.

For my throwers the friction fit makes handles last longer on bad throws.

If you plan on throwing your CS Norse Hawk with the set screw in place...it will break the handle or cause head separation. I would suggest using it as friction fit.
