Is brass or nickel silver wireing good for making pins and rivets out of?

Of the two choices, I'd pick nickel silver. I just don't like brass. I don't care for the color or anything about it.
Given broader choices I'd go with 416 stainless steel rod/pin. Never tarnish or get verdigris from leather or just the atmosphere, and you really can't distinguish it from NS unless they're side by side. NS has a slightly yellowish cast to it as it's generally above 80% brass in content.
