Pins in Handle Scales

I have a Fallkniven F1 with custom scales that I bought a while ago. The knife has nice handles but no pins. Does the lack of pin effect the overall handle strength?

Yes, it does. Handles with pins have more shear strength. Handles with properly peened pins don't need glue.

^what bill said. Without pins, you could hit the side (on the spine) of the scale with a hammer, it would break right off.
