PIONEER II PROBLEM...

I reently purchased a black tanto pioneer 2, and I have a small problem i need info on.

First off I LOVE THIS PIECE. It is my first knife from you guys, and it is really impressive! However, it seems that the open-stop pin has grown loose after only two weeks of moderate to heavy use. It spins around totally, and travels slightly side to side, making a little yet intolerable
"clicking" noise.

I am somewhat handy, and since there is nothing else wrong with my knife, could I open it up to try and tighten the pin's screws without voiding my warranty? Or would I be better off sending it directly to you for repair?

I love the knife, and hope to avoid sending it away already. Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Dangelo,

This is a common problem with Rekat's and is not a big deal to fix.

First off, did you loosen the pivot screws to get a looser action? If you loosen the screws too much it will allow the knife to "open" slightly, causing the rattle. If you did not loosen the pivot screws, put a drop of super glue on the ends of the pin, where it goes through the liner. This will stop the rattle.

If you want to do a little "smoothing out" of the action of your knife, let me know, and I will e-mail you a very easy and detailed fix.
