I finally convinced my parents to let me get the knife!! Thanks for all of your info, guys. I got the swept point cuz it was the strongest tip. I ordered from Discount Knives and they said they should get them in stock around the end of the month, so I should get it a little after that. I can't wait!! I'll let you guys know when I get it!

Good choice, Pioneer (old style) excellent only thing I didn't like was the lock release location. Now thats all changed, looks like REKAT put it in a great spot. I'm going to get one but just need figure what blade style (always liked clip point).

I don't know how old you are but, if you had to get your parents OK you are very fortunate. Don't displace the trust they have given you. I could not imagine having such a nice knife at your age. Hope you enjoy your new tool.
If this is your first real knife don't ever sell it, it will mean a lot down the road.

Actually, I got a pionner new style swept point. I didn't want "REKAT thumb". I'm 18, so I don't need my parents permission to buy a knife. I just want them to know that I am getting another one and that it will be almost $100. They kinda keep a watch on how much I spend cuz I'm in college and am trying to save for a car. I have several junky knives that never hold an edge. They still think that a junky, cheap knife is as good as a nice knife. My dad even offered me his old Barlow for a utility knife. His Barlow has no edge whatsoever on it, but he refuses to let me sharpen it. He says it is sharp enough. He doesn't know much about knives. My mom doesn't care if I get a new knife, as long as I have enough $$ for it. I have almost 20 knives that I never use, just collect like a K-bar, Bowie, 2 Survival knives w/hollow handles, 2 United Tantos, assorted pocket knives, some that were lost or fell apart, and stuff like that. I also have and carry a Leatherman Supertool and Gerber Microlight LST, but I wanted a larger lockback that I could clip on and not have to wear something with a belt or pocket. I had a gunsite folder, but it was too big to carry on a daily basis and it was 1" over the legal limit where I live. My dad gave me the OK to order the knife and said "I don't want to hear about a knife until next year" He says that everytime I want a new knife, and I get a knife, usually 1 per year. He still thinks that a cheapy knife is as good as a REKAT, Spyderco, Micortech, etc. I wanted to get a manual SOCOM or MINI manual SOCOM, but they wouldn't let me spend the $$. Oh well. Next year I'm going for a Gensis! And then later on, a Sebenza! hehehe..when I have enough money, that is!

That's the spirit. I'm a Big Microtech and MOD fan. I waited a long time before I got my Sebenza, that's a hefty chunk of change but, what a knife. I'm attempting to cut (no pun intended) back on my knife purchases but not yet to the one a year stage (I wish I could get to the one a month stage), it's a disease..ya know.. use caution..proceed slowly.

I know the disease! Thats why I clear my purchases through my parents. They try to keep me in check! But I can talk my way to most knives within a reasonable price limit...usually! I would like to get a MOD Trident, Socom both full size and mini manual, Sebenza, Genesis 2, and a REKAT Carnivour, utility Fang, Benchmade Axis lock, etc..the list keeps growing!
