Went to my local knife shop which had these for 30 bucks each!
More later when I get home...

Ok, now that is just wrong! I was stoked up for the sight of a knife and got a box. Now I'm crying.

No Ben, Petah showed us a box instead of the knife.

But, he is going to post pics later, he said. Can't wait.

I have a folder that I need to upload. Comparisons against a farmer, pioner, soldier... But It's honestly Plain Jane.

It is WAY TOO boxy for letting it sit under my wallet in my back pocket. It's also very noticeable in it's weight.

I still prefer the money clip or soldier.

Yes, comparison photos please.

Where do you live, Japan? Why does everyone get them before the U.S.?

I actually picked one up on line last week here in the U.S. from a domestic seller with free shipping. It's similar in width and heft to the Farmer, but with the scissors, far more practical for me as my EDC for backpacking/camping trips. Hope they eventually put it out in different colors. I will then end up owning several:D

nice box. victorinox has nice boxes. I have one in my closet with the rest of my knife boxes from purchases past.

Your photos and review are superior to what I could produce.

I got this is Korea FYI at the Victorinox store.

Because Victorinox is based in Europe?

We have to pay 50-100% more for American brands, whether in importer markup or in customs fees. Getting a new SAK a couple months before the U.S. is small consolation. (I'm kind of surprised about Korea, though.)

I'll grant you that, and I do like our 2nd amendment laws so I'll stay here for now. ;)

Really? Then be careful who you vote for in November.

Sorry for the highjack.

Vote for whomever you like. Second amendment doesn't apply. I don't think a country in the world considers Swiss Army knives to be weapons. Just don't leave it in your pocket or carry on bags at the airport.

No, but my mother was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey, and I have visited relatives there a few times. Never had any contact with the law while there, however.

I looked up NJ ordinances on the subject, and from what I can gather, a SAK is regarded as a weapon only if it has been used, or threatened to be used as such. So long as you don't slash somebody, or threaten to do so, it should be okay to carry a SAK in NJ. That is, if you get detained by the police for serious troublemaking, even if the SAK is not part of it, you could be charged with carrying a concealed weapon. Apparently, that can be up to the officer's discretion. Switchblades, though, are considered naughty.

I honestly believe that if you are a typical law abiding citizen, you have nothing to fear on that score, provided you don't run into Officer Dick. But if you are unlucky enough to run into that guy, even if you are not carrying, he'll find something else to nail you on.

A lawyer friend once advised me that if the gendarmerie wants you, they'll find something, and if they don't, they won't, so just live your life and don't worry, be happy. :D
