Pipe Hawk

My first completed project for the year and also my first pipe hawk

Hand forged and carved 1084/1095 steel, Blade is 3 x 2 1/4
inches, 7 inches OAL, 0-1 screw on bowl. Handle is 20 inches
carved curly maple

Bob is a fine knife maker/smith. It is a pleasure to see his talent continue to grow. He also is a pleasure to deal with. He has surrmounted some difficult times and continues to progress.

Great hawk as usual:thumbup: I really like the file work. I've also noticed that you sometimes brown your hawk heads, How do you do that:eek: thanks for the peek..

Plum brown barrel finish, you can find it at most gun shops, brownells or most knife maker supplies.
