We all know my affection for Philippine blades. Barongs, parangs, and goloks are all in my collection. Another of my favorites is the Pira. I have wanted to put a design like that into a camp knife....
Introducing the Pira Camp. OAL is 15 3/8 in and the blade is 9 3/4 in. This is 1/8 in thick L6, full tang. (the initial stock was thicker) It is handled in purple heart wood and brass pins. The balance is just shy of 1 inch in front of the scales (damn near perfect for a chopper).
I think I am going to call this the "Legacy Camp Knife.....fear it".
