Got my Bodyguard last week, been using it for limited EDC here. I figured I'd post a review for all of you who've been teetering on the edge of actually buying one. OK.

The clip comes overly tight, and it only has one screw, but it's solid, so once you loosen it it works out just fine. Extremely fast opening, zero blade play in mine, at least, and the materials are top notch. The knife isn't quite as sharp as my Spydercos, but then, what is... it was sharp enough to go through some pretty rough cardboard cutting without a discernable loss in the edge. It could be sharper, but that's not really a problem. Just sharpen and strop it and it'll be fine.

I had some reservations about the bead-blasted finish, so I went for the blackened coating. In case anyone was wondering, don't bother with it. You can save ten bucks by getting the bead-blasted one, the finish is decent, but I dropped it on my counter and nicked some of it off. It's not the best coating.

The knife is elegant-looking, I absolutely love it, and it fits my hand well (But I have smallish hands, so beware, ye gorillas.) I got the full-size one, I doubt the Mini would work as well.

Thanks for this Mad Cap, I was hoping to hear good things about this knife as it looked very cool and a bit more carriable/practical then the protec godson. This is the s30v version, ey?

hmmmm, one more to go on the list.

Yeah, it's the S30V version, and I was impressed with its edge retention after going through all the cardboard boxes I moved back home for the summer with and the boxes for our new washing machine and dryer...

Also, didn't know the aluminum was so prone to damage... it doesn't affect anything, but I dropped it on the ground accidentally and it put a small nick in the back of the knife. Merely cosmetic, but a bit irritating. I suppose all that you would really have to do is be careful not to drop it.

Back again for another update on this knife.

I've been carrying it for a while, it's awfully handy in the back stock areas when I'm trying to open boxes (I usually have to use one hand to hold the box up, since I can't allow food product containers to touch the floor.) It's still nearly as sharp as the day I bought it, and I use it daily. Great knife. The lockup is still solid, still have zero blade play, and that's including that one brief flash of inanity when I tried to create blade play, too. Good buy.

this is a great knife blade is a good steel, very light weight. my only criticism is that the handle is really slick and there is no gimping on the finger guards. but otherwise awesome knife
