Yarrrgghhh!!!

18" long, sharp on both sides, cord wrap over thick leather, Hamon and patina. The 1095 I made it from shows a lot of unique banding and character in the Hamon.

I am calling it a Pirate's Sword because a pirate would have stolen this and carried it for sure!

More pics soon! :D

I absolutely love this. I also love the lack of plunge lines. I wish I could get that style down.

Awesome work Dan!

Thanks! Much appreciated.

I have been working on that style a bit lately, my last 3 have had little or no plunge lines. This one, a santoku kitchen slicer and a big cleaver. It has been challenging and fun.

Thanks for the kind words!

Free-hanging paper cut, swedge cut and some regular slicing.

I think it was Rick Marchand that said it best "plunge lines are overrated". Again I really like this one. I need to make some money, you might get a new customer.

That one looks mean!

Thanks, it kind of scares me!

I am a big fan of Rick's work, no plunge lines are nice and retain lots of strength as there is such a smooth transition. Thanks again!
