So I'm looking for pistol safes for my vehicles. Fort Knox pb1 is what I'm leaning at. Does any one own one of these.

I want to secure it with a cable where your supposed to bolt it down. That way I can move it easy between vehicles. I was thinking of a cable with a good lock secured through the bottom of the seat.

This isn't as secure as bolting it down, but I believe it's better than nothing. What do you guys use to secure your pistols in your vehicles?

Thanks

GunVault NV100 NanoVault are pretty decent. Anything is a car is more deterrent then a safe. Once the "bad guy" finds out there is a gun they will just steal your car or destroy the car to get it.
Something to keep in mind is when upholstering never do it where the public can view you, thus telling everyone LOOK I GOT A $500 GUN to steal here!!

Best is to keep it in a greasy old McDonalds bag with used napkins on top.

This is your best bet, or just shove it under your thigh while your driving. Thats what i do. Don't leave your gun in your car, drive around with it and take it with you when you get out. Its not like you can access it quickly if its locked up bolted to your floor boards. Secure storage is for your collection at home. In my car, i need my gear accessible, on person or laying around near by ready to go.

These are sort of interesting. The first Hornady version wasn't secure, but these look better.

Cool, my Fort Knox should be here tomorrow. Weighs about 20 pounds. Lol These boxes will help with your smash and grab robberies in your vehicle.
If someone is a professional, nothing will stop them. But if something should ever happen, at least I can say I did my best to deter it. I don't want criminals running around with my guns.

I'd put a piece of steel equivalent to the weight of the gun in the locked box, and hide the pistol elsewhere. The theory being the thief would focus like a laser on the lockbox and devote all his effort to getting the box, leaving the rest of the vehicle alone.

That is a good idea. 99 % of the areas I work at are descent. But we never know. After I get it I want to put a thick cable with a good lock tight around the bottom of the seats laced through two holes in the bottom of the box. I'm in and out of homes back and forth in my van all day. They would have to have bolt cutters on hand and balls like King Kong to do something during daytime. I got Bosch screw gun behind my front seat, some dollar bills in the consul. And change.
That would be something that would go first probably. And that's better than a firearm.

In the United States, carrying a concealed weapon (CCW, also known as concealed carry) is the legal authorization for private citizens to carry a handgun or other weapons in public in a concealed manner, either on the person or in close proximity to the person. In some states, it is sufficient to be a resident or permanent resident (greencard holder)...

With more states slowly moving towards allowing concealed carry without need of a permit, the only requirement being that you can legally own a handgun.
