Thanks for posting Bruce.

This is my first pistol. I cant get away from knives so I decided to make a liner lock blade in it. It shoots a single 00 buck shot (33 cal.) Black powder, cap and ball. Except for the mosaic bolsters it is all stock removal. O-1 Blade and hammer, gold plated trigger, pre-ban elephant ivory bark, engraved barrel and spacer by Tom Moro, fileworked .080" titanium liners with jeweling inside. Blade is 3" long .240" thick and full hollow grind. Mel Doyles hot blueing. Over-all length is about 9 inches (with the blade out)

This thing was very fun to make and challenged me at every step. The hardest part was making the hammer, trigger and mainspring all work together. The trigger is hidden until the hammer is pulled back. Another problem is drilling the holes through everything. Without the handle scales it is .410" wide. The drill bits wanted to go through at different angles. There are 18 holes in it for the 2-56 screws and .125" pins that hold it all together.

What was that saying about bringing a knife to a gun fight or something? Nice job man, I see myself doing guns one day as well.

Bruce B. Boy!!! If I knew you had that done I definitely would of pick you up for the hammer-in. Really nice.

Bruce I didn't realize you're a gun smith too. That is beautiful and awe inspiring. Your choice of "box" is sweet too. When you go over the top, it's Niagara!

Bruce, if you shoot someone with that, it's going to really piss them off. Good thing you have that knife attached.
I'm starting to get disgusted with both Bruce's. They are setting the standard so high it's starting to look unachievable.
As usual, outstanding knife Bruce. How does it shoot?

Well Bruce, ever since you told me about that project I've been waiting to see it. It was worth the wait. It's just beautiful and proves what I've said for a long while. That a good knifesmith can make anything. The detail is perfect and as always with your work, the balance and form are beautiful....A+++++++

Beautiful,Mr.Bumb..At first I thought it was some antique weapon from the time of Cardinal Richelieu..made by the best smiths in the world back then. Really top-class work!

Thanks for all the really kind words Guys. Actuall I have taken a little flack for making a gun. I hold to Peter Naps theory that "a knife smith can make anything." The smiths of old made some really awesome weapons with blades attached. Im talking about 17-19th century makers. They didnt have television to ruin their imaginations and anything they made were wild by todays cookie-cutter standards. We dont have to stick to set patterns, We can dare to do something different.

Graymaker, I wanted to make an Over and Under but cant figure where the blade will go because the barrel mounting flange also doubles as the blade stop. I have an idea for a side by side though, the blade can go between the barrels.

Tmickley, I have only fired 4 rounds through it but it does shoot good! Not very accurate with no sights. There are a few comprimises. Its not a great gun and its not a great knife but it is a "one of a kind"

George, Thats it! Im not waiting for you anymore. I looked pretty silly standing there for 6 hours!
