Pit Jr and natural tinder.

I managed to get Pit Jr out with me and the dogs today and decided to see if he could spark up some natural tinder with the old ferro rod !

For the tinder we used some Fatwood coated in resin with some fine Fatwood shaving dropped on top to take the spark:

After about 15 strikes and with frustration setting in we had fire !

That's awesome man. I taught my 7 and 9 year old how to use some Swedish steel to light dryer lint (easy to find tender here in the big city). Nice job Pit Jr.

Odd timing for this. Just caught my nephew asking if he could make sparks with my 'sparky thing'. lol

Good on ya Bro! It's good to get them outside into the real world. I had fun teaching my oldest...think I'll wait a while on teaching the youngest
