Just a little info for anyone new to CRK, or those who have not done a take-down on their knife. One of the design features of the CRK pivot hole is that it has small depressions milled into the side of the hole. These serve the same function as the holes in the washers:
1 - They hold additional lube:
2 - They give any grit or contamination that works it's way into the pivot somewhere to go until the knife is next serviced.
Here's a pic of the pivot hole in my Large Micarta 21, that shows the grooves. They are also present on the small, 25, and Umnum. I don't know about the Mnandi (I don't got one) or the older CRKs (I have no idea if this has been a long-standing feature, or a new one). Maybe one of our CRK historians can comment. When you buy a CRK, this is the sort of design detail you are paying for (and you can't event see it!!!)
