Pivot lock?

Got a new folder in today, went to disassemble it for the first time and for the life of me I can't open it up!. Pivot will easily unscrew about 1/6th of a rotation and back, but when I try to turn it further I just run into brick wall... what am I encountering here, loctite? It's a single sided torx pivot so I can't attempt to turn it from the other side and I'm finding it difficult to get a great deal of purchase on my little husky torx screwdriver. In saying that, I've still tried to pry it open really hard.

Any advice/guesses would be much appreciated :)

Sounds like the threads might be a bit damaged or were cross threaded. Usually if you have good fitting bits you can get through it, but you may need a replacement if you do.

What knife is it? Someone may have a better idea what the issue is or a solution if you let them know what knife.

Thanks JJ,

I hope that's not the case but I did find this thread - https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/stuck-pivot.1917112/ , that contains some of the usual suspects. I'm going to try heating up a nail and if that doesn't work I'll boil it... and if that doesn't work than I'm sure your guess is probably right. Doesn't make much sense that it would turn partially (about a sixth or eigth of a rotation) if it were loctite, but perhaps the first few threads are loctite free.

Will report back!
