Pivot lube

is there any place i can buy it so i don't have to order it online?

some gun shops may have it- call around. Its mostly sold as a gun oil - but Benchmade uses it in their factory. That means a Benchmade stocking knife shop might carry it as well- but thats a long shot...

i keep a small pen type container of Tufoil Lubit-8 in my tackle box, glove compartment, etc so theyre always around.

its a teflon lubricant that has some pretty decent qualities. its not as thick as other lubricants but this also translates to deeper penetration of joints.

dont be put off by the $7 price of these tiny pen oilers - they last forever due to the perfectly efficient way they apply the oil - every drop ends up where its supposed to. in a pinch ill coat carbon blades with them as well - a couple of drops on the blade and spread it around with a finger.

ive been using this stuff for many years primarily on comp fan bearings. yeah a replacement fan is cheap, but when you have a small network of AMD computers the $10-15 for decent ball bearing fans can add up. a couple of drops of this in a fan bearing when it starts to squeal will give you 1-2 years more quiet fan life, no sh*t.

millitec and tuff glide are the best imho, i really prefer tuffglide, usually.
