Pivot material

Hello,

I am having trouble finding material for a custom pivot that I am making for my folder.
As I understand 416 stainless steel (EN1.4005) is the material usually used, but is little bit hard to find in EU.
I can easily get EN1.4301 and EN1.4404.
I would appreciate if someone could share their opinion on alternative pivot material/ materials.
Or if there any Europian knife maker can share their supplier within EU would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you all in advance!

Welcome Sirco to Shop Talk. Fill out your profile with a country and location so folks can give better answers. Many US suppliers ship internationally. THe UK has some good suppliers as well as others in the EU and eastern countries.

Try some of these places:

Thank you, and my apologies for not being clear enough.
Profile should be updated now!
Alpha Knife Supply I found already but since I will use metric screws and custom non-rotating pivot my choices are a bit limited :)
Thank you to for the information especially for balticblades.com, extremely useful!

Integral titanium folders with RWL34 blade. I am approaching from CNC machinist's point of view.
V2A should be similar to EN1.4301/ AISI 304. Thank you for your input.

I love the AKS pivots and all the fasteners I've gotten from them, really precise high tolerance stuff

No problem! What a wonderful but strange world where I can sit here in Australia and help someone in Sweden find a local source of knife making materials!

I would love to see the pivots you make - I’ve just started making a few of my own but used titanium so far.

Indeed! I am working on the pivots right now in 304ss, in this stage it doesn't really matter that much. I will post some photos when I am done :)
