pivot mechanics Q?

Please bear with me. I did do a search and those results were unclear to me.

I want to know what pivot parts actually move during blade deployment on a sebenza.
I think that the bronze washers & pivot bushing actually stay in a fixed position from pivot screw compression and the blade itself simply "rides" on the O.D of the pivot bushing.

Not rocket surgery i know, but is this correct?

Any information given will help when maintenance time arrives and proper lube points are understood.
Thanks.

The blade obviously moves all the time, but from wear marks, I know th washers at least shift, maybe spin some. I say the latter because I've put a mirror finish on them to see the titanium side of the washers scratched when I next take it apart to clean it.

I don't know about the bushing; it could be a case like the washers, but I would guess it stays fixed.

I would also guess the pivot screw does not move because the same on the Mnandi has an obvious orientation (thanks to having the CR logo engraved on it), and I haven't ever seen it move on my Mnandi.

I lube the hole in the blade, the part the washers sit on, and the track of the detent. Where to lube the blade at least becomes obvious as it wears in.

I did a youtube video a while back. the only thing is in the video I loosened the first pin, Chris reeve corrected me and said to keep everything tight when assembling and disassembling. Hope this helps. by the way do not use anything other than chris reeve grease, this will add to the performance of your sebenza, and will last longer.

I believe the blade moves only as well. A washer may move slightly but if that becomes the norm then I think you have a problem.

Rocket surgery is indeed not correct.
