Pivot Pin confusion???

Took and cleaned out my small sebenza yesterday. Threw all the parts into a small bowl as not to lose them. Well, when it came time to put in the pivot, I noticed that the pivot pin is the exact same as the other 2 pins that hold the knife together . I heard that the tolerances are so tight that the pin, bushing, washers and blade are all fitted to extreme precision.

So I took each pin and put the bushing over each one and they all fit identical. So... do one of these pins match up better then the other. I put my knife together with all 3 just testing each one and they all worked fine. I am just wondering if there is "ONE" that was precisley machined to fit the pivot bushing perfectly though? If so.. is there a way to find it, lol..., if not, that sure is confusing:D

Makes no difference which standoff you run through the pivot bushing.

They're all the same, my friend! :)

That's good to know. All this time, I have been keeping track of which came from where so as to put them back in their original places.

Keeping track can't hurt, but they're all the same so it's really not necessary.

If anything, I try to make sure that the tightest-fitting standoff goes through the stop sleeve.

It's nice how the Sebenza's screwheads and backsides of standoffs are self-centering; the design also allows for better galling of the 303 stainless hardware agaist the ti, which allows for Loc-Tite-free assembly (and that nice initial "pop" when disassembling). One of the lesser-discussed and appreciated touches of perfection that we take for granted!

Yep, the pin sets should be identical.

Though that didn't stop it from completely screwing with the lockup and stop pin on my Insigno. The shop is taking a look at it, probably something I did. :o
