hi guys - i keep the pivot pin on my gunting pretty tight to help keep it from opening up in pocket -BUT- i tighten the pin, and open the knife 2-3 times, and its loose again...what should i do? loctite? i really dont wanna do that- but what else could i do? none of my other knives do this-is this a common problem w/the gunting? any info much appreciated .....

I think its very common.. I get used to fine tuning my GUNTINGS...
I keep a hex wrench with me @ all times..I just bought some Blue Locktight...yeah..the medium strentgth stuff...I'm going for it..
I'll let you all know how it works out!
I'd advise you lock tite it with the non permanent stuff...for set screws etc..the low grip..
Some of my Guntings last a long time without ever coming loose..My newest one if I bang it a few times it comes loose..They are supposed to be locktited to start with..( at least I thought they were)BUT I've never seen one that was..
I'd lock tite it and set it to your favorite tension..and let it be held in place by technology..( read that gooey stuff or glue)
My GUNTINGS get really hard banging and they all eventually need tightening cause of the the impact shock..

I never locktited engine parts till I started racing..then it was important..
The Gunting absorbs shock..so lock tite it..

well when bram talks about the gunting people (well me for sure...) listen - will try it, let me know your luck in the situation - thanks a bunch bud, and have a good one - and hey when are ya coming to texas?? the sushis on me lol - thanks again...

Well, that does explain why mine got so loose. I will remeber to keep track of it in the future. Mine seems to stay pretty well adjusted now, though.

Ask your wife/girlfriend for some nail varnish, it works the same way as blue Loctite (242 isn't it?).
