I was trying to tighten my Zing pivot to fix a little bladeplay but the pivot won't tighten or loosen. Do you guys have any input on how to fix this?
My Leek turns really nicely FWIW...

Sounds like you may have some locktite on the pivot screw. Try using a hair dryer on the hottest setting. I have a couple other ideas but I wouldn't

want to suggest them on the forum.

email or pm me for the other ideas.

open the blade and hold it on top of a table/countertop. While holding the handle, apply a little downward pressure. At the same time turn the pivot screw.

If you take off your clip, you should be able to see the other side of the pivot screw assembly turning while you are trying to unscrew it. That is most likely your issue. It's usually a pain to get these undone if they are spinning like that.

Funny my orange Zing does this too. I have thought about contacting Kershaw but I didn't think it was worth the trouble.

If the hair dryer doesn't work, it should though, boil it in water for about 5 minutes. You still need to remove the clip so you can apply pressure to the female pivot.

The "female pivot" would be the part that the screw screws into. As you described "the other silver side".

So while you are trying to unscrew it using the pivot screw on the bottom in this picture, the other side of the pivot (shown in the top of this picture) is just rotating as well. You need to get enough pressure on the silver part in the top picture in order to stop it from rotating while you are unscrewing it.

If the back of the pivot is turning too, i tried taping a small piece of rubber to the back of the pivot as tight as i could, and to top that off, i pressed down on it really hard with my finger, and that got it loose. If its just plain not turning then that means theres too much locktite in the pivot. Ive known locktite to wear off after a few months of use. Ive also heard that you can melt locktite by heating the pivot with a soldering iron.
