The Starmate has a pivot screw that is only slotted on one side, and I notice this on a lot of Spyderco models. Is this particular pivot screw design as easy to disassemble/reassemble as pivots that have Torx slots on both sides of the pivot pin? Are there any advantages or disadvantages to having one over the other?

Thank you all!

It's very easy to disassemble these kinds of builds. I think all Emersons are like this, too, and those have never given me any issues. Typically the non-slotted side has a "key"-type fit where it's stuck in place and cannot rotate inside the scale cutout. This could make disassembly and reassembly even easier than dual-slotted solutions, but in all reality it's probably a wash. Don't let this issue impact your buying decision one iota!

FWIW, they look like this:

Outer, internally threaded piece, is D shaped and the liners have matching D shaped holes so it cannot turn when you attempt to loosen or tighten the screw.
