In a different thread today I posted photos of my Large Sebenza Classic.
My question, after searching, remains. Is there a way to increase pivot tension on these knives?

It seems the screw bottoms out at its maximum tightness leaving the blade a little too free for my liking.

Thanks.

You can't, it's a feature.

In my experience the small Sebenza has a stronger detent.

Pivot tension is not controlled by that screw
It controlled by the bronze washers
The more the washers are worn the easier the blade moves
New washers will make it tighter
Most of the guys would kill for what you have
My small was to stiff & after having apart 6 times I sanded the washers
Its now like butter

The knife or the tension?

I thought more about it after answering your question, You are talking about the blade flopping after the detent has released it Correct.

If it comes out of the handle to easy or it falls out on it own the detent needs to be repaired by CRK.

If the detent is Ok new washer will slow down the blade speed

Great clarification,
Actually I was talking about after the detent released the blade.
But, it also has very little, ''detent tension".

I would sent it back to CRK & they will fix the detent & tune it up

You can't fool around with a weak detent because you can slice your hand open by putting it in your pocket when the blade has come out of the handle and you don't know it. That has happened here to guys on the forum.

.

I held the knife in a blade down position tonight parallell to the floor and sort of gently flicked it while I held it in such a way as to only grip the frame, not the lock bar or blade. When I did this the blade opened, so, yes I will have the detent serviced.

Thanks again fro the feedback.

I would send it back pepper. It sounds like a well broken in sebenza to me.

What are u using to lubricate the washers and are they polished?
