Inspiration from Nismo's post yesterday. A few more shots of guns 'n khuks w/ assorted accoutrements:

  • 1918 Mk II khukuri w/ Greener Mk III, modified to fire a modern load in the venerable .45-70. Hand loaded w/ black powder, it'll raise some eyebrows when hauled out for a long-range cowboy shoot. Tack driver!
  • WWII M43 variant w/ Webley Mk IV modified for .45 ACP.
  • HI M43 w/ Browning 9mm HP, Indian Katar & Khanjarli, and Lee-Enfield No. 4 Mk I.
  • WWII CBI Burma khukuri w/ Webley and British light infantry officer's sword carried by LTC Harold Tuck, CIE 3rd Queen Alexandra's Own Gurkha Rifles (served during the Boer war, Indian frontier, Kurdistan and Iraq in WWI).

I can't see the pictures, Rio, because I don't have sufficient privileges per Bladesforums. At least that's what the little window of denial says.

How is it a 'registered user' can see the picts, but I as a paying member cannot?

munk

Munk,

The photos look great to me. Check your local security settings.

What are my local security settings? The screen of denial I get is Bladesforums, not my PC.

thanks

Look at "edit options" under User CP to make sure that you have the "show images" box checked.

munk?

Don't worry. Not much to see. (er..you can stop reading this post now.)

Rio Jim

Wow !!! The most beautiful pictures I've ever seen anywhere of anything! The artful composition, the rare collection, the remarkable Webley, and even that marvelous touch of the monocle--surpasses description. (Don't tell Munk.)

funny...

Is it possible if Rio has placed me on ignore I could not access these? It is a bladesforum screen of denial.

I wish I knew the answer.

N2- the show images box is checked
I lowered my browser setting to impending felony and still can't view the picts- per bladesforums

Someone else mentioned being denied access with the basic membership. I'd imagine there is some switch that Spark didn't flick when he set it up. Should be resolved soon. It will be all right.

What happens if Rio Jim hates my guts? What happens if he cuts me off in traffic, takes the last bite of pie, the best parking spot, throws gum on the ground beneath my feet, and makes rude noises about my deceased cat?

munk

Munk, ole Buddy?

Put down the computer and back away slowly. Go outside. Breathe deeply and slowly. Orient yourself. It will be all right.

Whoa big fella! No such thing. Of course I did tell Yvsa that if you got butt bit by a snake I wouldn't be the one to suck the venim out, but that's another thread :D. Yvsa had the same trouble with a pic of a Skean-Dhu I posted yesterday, so the permissions, and problems have to lie with Bladeforums. What good is a Gold Membership if I can't post pics that you can see? :(

Well, thanks, Rio, I'd never thought of the snake bit butt as the test of true friendship...though there is one other possible bite location much, much worse. You'd need to be a spiritual giant to handle it, or have vastly different tastes than my own.

"I'm sorry Pard, it's just your time to go."

I'm sort of a glitch magnent, Rio. If it'll break, it'll often do it on my watch. By Bill's philosophy, that probaby means I sweat the small stuff too much.

45/70 and I were talking guns in a thread nearby and he mentioned we'd hijacked it. Not at all, I told him. What could be more natural then in a khukuri forum talking about firearms? They go hand in hand, and I sure wish I could see those Pictures!!!!

N2 sent me the images. They are magazine quality. REally outstanding.

Besides being too sharp for his own good, N2 is just a real good guy to have around.

I can't see these either.:grumpy: :( Like Munk, my "show images box" is also checked. Haven't tried to log out and see if it works like Nasty did.
I should maybe go to the Service & Support Forum and let Spark know about the problem, but I'm just feelin plain too tired right now to bother with it.

I've written Rusty and the Management.

Glad I'm in esteemed company anyway.
