For those heavy jobs on an acre of Arizona high-country scrub oak, juniper, pinõn pine, and chaparral:
- 18, 27 oz, Ganga Ram by Bura. Speaks to wood with authority! Spine is 3/8.
- 16, 23 oz, GK BKP (Bone Crusher Purbeli) by Kami Pratap (from EarthBazar, not HI), out of railway track. Specially made for the Dashian Festival in Nepal. Capable of chopping and crushing big water buffalo bones. (quote from Prajwal of EarthBazar personally, Ive only used it on oak and pine). Its a tough khuk with a comfortable grip that really fits my hand. One of my first new khuks and still a field favorite. Spine is 7/16.
- 16.25, 29 oz, Chiruwa AK by Kumar. This is the khuk that Dan did some beautiful custom work on for Shane (including a Kydex-leather scabbard, convex edge, and satin finish). Doesnt have the new improved Habaki bolster, or cho creep of the newer generation. Got it thanks to a post from Yvsa! Spine is ½.
