Pix: Kydex Khuk Tac Carry Scabbards

I had three kydex quick-draw scabbards made for a few of my favorite HI tac carry khuks:

• 17" Sirupati (lighter and faster than my 18" Gelbu or Chitlangi)
• 12" Sirupati
• HI Kerambit

The scabbards were made for me by Lynn Dawson, who is a very fine maker of custom handmade knives (Lynn Knives). She lives in the neighboring town of Prescott Valley, Arizona, and can be reached at lynnknives@yahoo.com. The 12" Siru is especially fast out of the scabbard. The belt carriers were made for my carry preferences, but with plenty of drilled holes the scabbards can be adapted to several belt or web carry options. The .45? Well, that's the fallback weapon if the bad guys get past the khuks. Now if I can talk Lynn into attemping a kerambit khuk....

sorry for topic drift, but what is the wood on the .45 grips? Way too gorgeous!

The grips are Koa (Hawaiian -- very hard), made by Jake Dent, jacobw@highstream.net, training to become an officer of Marines. He does beautiful work.
