Can't get the pix to post and for some reason can't delete the thread. To hell with it.
This is a issue M43 with a scarce aluminum grip. While there are no marks on
the blade, the scabbard is faintly stamped with the numerals 11 then NEFA.
This would indicate a knife used around 1947 by a district unit on the
Burmese border as the 11th Battalion which was an extension of the original
Assam Rifles thaty goes all the way back to 1835 as Frontier Police. The
other unique thing is that the scabbard was made to hold a karda & chakmak
(see cu of scabbard throat) none were ever put into these spaces.
