Can't get the pix to post and for some reason can't delete the thread. To hell with it.

This is a issue M43 with a scarce aluminum grip. While there are no marks on
the blade, the scabbard is faintly stamped with the numerals 11 then NEFA.
This would indicate a knife used around 1947 by a district unit on the
Burmese border as the 11th Battalion which was an extension of the original
Assam Rifles thaty goes all the way back to 1835 as Frontier Police. The
other unique thing is that the scabbard was made to hold a karda & chakmak
(see cu of scabbard throat) none were ever put into these spaces.
 
See if this works. I cut and pasted it into my bar and got the pic just fine.

A fine lookin old khuk!!!! I have one scabbard that's as flat as this one. It's the one on my BGRS.
Too bad they all can't be as nice as it and the scabbard on my chitlangi!!!!:)

Bro I know what I fixed, but don't think I can explain it. I could show you, but that's impossible since were not sitting next to each other.;)
Maybe someone with more of a command ot the English language could.
 
I cut and pasted your location for the pix and it worked. The only difference I can see is I used small letters {img} and you used caps {IMG] -- maybe that's what it takes.
 
Just checked and the pix don't show up when I use Netscape6 but they show up on AOL. What in the hell is going on anyway.

HELP!!!!!!!!!
 
Uncle, your first post had the URL for the pic, but I got a pop-up "Publisher Refuses Access". I used an old WebTV trick, pasting it into my "send" bar, and adding three question marks, then hitting send. It worked. Now there is nothing but a blank.
 
This is really strange!!!!!!!!! I'm still getting the pic in my 1st post.
I hope this year isn't a 'trickster.':)

NEFA stands for North East Frontier Agency.
 
I think the problem is with Ofoto. I think that somehow the picture is generated on the fly when it is accessed.

Anyway, this should show this great looking M43.
