For maybe 50 miles or so the road to Manakamana parallels the Trisuli River. The river is largely unpolluted because it does not run through populated areas and offers up some good swimming, fishing, rafting and beautiful views. More on the fish later.

Mmmm...very nice-looking stretch of water. What's the altitude there, roughly? If those scenes were in N.Am., I'd say that looked like good trout water. From my limited experience elsewhere in Asia, though, my guess is that would be home to the hardy and ubiquitous 'king of the fighting gamefish,' Mr. Carp. Details, please

Altitude of these pix will vary from 2500 to maybe 3500 feet.

The most caught fish is a little critter not much bigger than a good sized sardine and they call him locally "Jingue." This could be a little carp for all I know. The next most caught would be a brand of catfish called locally "junguemas."
