So, my wife bought me a new axe for Christmas.





I noted straightaway that it was of quality construction, if a bit unorthodox. I observed that the handle grain orientation is quite respectable.



But I am a bit concerned that there is no wedge.



I know that some of you are wondering; what is the usefulness of this tool in a tactical situation? I had high hopes due to this axes obvious advantage in concealability, however, upon closer examination of the packaging I saw that this axe was simply not designed for tactical use.

 
It is a weapon, in the war against thoroughly cut slices. I have been attacked by many a pizza pie, fortunately I have always come out victorios. My waist line has suffered some injurys though.

Of course it isn't a weapon--no bottle opener! That handle should hold up well to light use, but be on the lookout for failure if used hard on deep dish...
