First I apologize for no pics but I'm away from my computer. But I just picked up a pjt scagel machete at the eugene show. It has a leather + "dogbone" antler handle & 16" blade with the signature scagel choil. My recollection from when he made tgese msny years ago was that the 1/8" thick blade was either 52100 or 5160, but the seller said it was L6 - I can't find the steel or the price on the net, does anyone else recall??
I must say it dances in the hand!
 
PJ marked his hand forged work with his MS stamp.
Those machetes are nice, I almost bought one at one of the NYC shows a while back.
 
I have nothing to add except I'd love to see a picture if you get an opportunity to post one. :)
