Here's one commissioned by an quiet client who supports our nation's top military rescue service, USAF Pararescue. This one will be drawn for the PJ who will use it in missions and combat, a courtesy of the 306th Rescue Squadron. I'm proud to have many of these tactical knives in rescue and combat operations here and abroad.

that is one manly piece of hardware. Those serrations are the burliest I've ever seen.
Jay, do you hand sharpen the edge? Seems to me that a lot of hand made knives have a machine finished edge, (ironically). Doesn't look like that's the case with your knives- or am I out to lunch?

Hi, Lorien. You are correct. I figure the guy in the field has to hand sharpen too, so I want to start him off right.
Lorien when I started making knives for the military, the one thing they requested is "serrations that work." They claimed that many of the serrations simply were there for show. They wanted super-aggressive rip teeth that would continue to cut, even if broken off while sawing. This type has worked great for them for over a decade, and through many conflicts and rescues.

I'm honored and humbled to make knives for these guys. I've got a couple new designs coming out, by the PJs themselves; I'll post them if you like...

Thanks,
Jay
