Ok a more direct question, since I'm not getting any help- can anyone provide me measurements of the P'Kal's wave? Width, length and of possible thread but just the basic dimentions are great.
Thanks
Hey guys, some of you may have seen me mention wanting a wave on my Chokwe but the downward angle behind the spyder hole means it wouldn't work reliably unless its in front of the hole and I don't want to do that, or open the hole its self. Those methods would ruins the lines so I've pretty much gave up on the idea of cutting a wave.
That brings me to the P'Kal, I believe I could make something similar for my Chokwe but I'm wondering how exactly I should attach it. I understand the P'Kal's is threaded, does anyone know the thread size/pitch? I'm guessing it would be extremely hard to tap the blade so I'm looking at a press fit. Would spyderco sell me just the P'Kal's wave as a replacement part?
Does anyone have any experience plunge tapping a hole down in the spine of a S30V (or any other) blade? Actually makig the hole wont be much of a problem for me, I'll drill it out on my Bridgeport mill so it'll be very precise, my concern is threading it. Is it nearly impossible? Does spyderco tap it or use some other method? Whatever they do I'm guessing its before heat treatment right?
Thanks
