Plain / “Slick” Umnumzaan

I recently came across a dealer exclusive zaan without the milled crosshatch (they call it “slick”) and was curious if anyone had ever seen this before or if you happen to have one to give an impression. I recently picked up a zaan and am quite fond of the milling, but it does look interesting plain. It’s from recon 1 if you want to check out the listing for pictures.

The knife in question was an auction piece from CRK at Blade show and is not a dealer exclusive. Recon 1 sold it for $3,000.

Thanks for the correction, I didn’t find any information other than that one page. That’s some price! Do you know if there was only the one made? The listing is there just for us to drool over I guess. I thought it was interesting too that it wasn’t Magnacut.

They were both (1) offs made just for the show. The one with the Damascus blade was FANTASTIC. Wish I could have taken that one home with me....

Yeah....that pic doesn't do it justice either. The etching on that blade was on another level. It was VERY RICH and dark. It was also SUPER smooth as it was also tuned up. Tim and the crew out did themselves on that.

Wow that Damascus is amazing too!! It’s nice seeing some of these out of reach one off type CRKs. If anyone else has any more feel free to share!
