I have started making my model of a drip point hunter and am having some blanks cut from a chunk of D2 by GreatLakesWaterJet. He asked me if I would wait till after blade because of the push for him to get ready and by attendees. So in the mean time I made a couple of examples.

Plain is from 1/"4 5160 with a finish of 1200 grit with my disk, Cocobolo scales with 304 stainless pins

Fancy is from Chad Nichols 3/16" 1095/nickel rain drop damascus buffed and hot blued. Vine file work down spine. Scales are stabilized White ash burl and stabilized/dyed maple burl with mosaic pins.

Both are the same size despite the photo OVAL is just shy of 10" with 5 1/4" of exposed steel and a depth of 1 1/2"

Let me know what you think. Thanks Jim
