A good friend of mine recently sold me iis BM 630 a couple hours after he recieved it at work, and while I REALLY wanted one, I was still disapointed with the colorful divets on the handle. My friend said I could return it it I couldn't stand the anodizing, but I have been so broke and feeling withdrawl symptoms due to the lack of recent knife purchases coupled with an addiction to S30V and Titanium, that I just had to figure out a wa to get rid of the anodizing...

Two Q-tips, some flitz and about 10 minutes gets me as close to an Avenger my last $140 will allow!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

Dunno if anyone else has an issue with lotsa colors like me, but just thought I might share this little tidbit of happiness just in case somebody wants a 630, but doesn't want/have cash to send it off to get it bead-blasted like me... Now if I can just part with it and my LM Charge Ti long enough to get Strider Flame-jobbed... ;)

Go for it! :D

Good move modifying the handle, too. No sense living with it if it's so simple to fix.

I was really surprised how easy the anodizing comes off. Oh how I love the 630... This was the first time I modified a knife myself. I was always worried I would wreck the knife, but the 630 came out GREAT! :D

Check out the Benchmade site. They have a Special Project page that has a plain gray titanium scale with silver dots.

Special Project

I guess it's for folks like you who don't like the color dots. I had one for a while, but sold it. It was just to large for pratical carry for me.

Imagine how those massive Ti slabs would look without the dainty little colored dots - instead flamed in either random camo or tiger-strip pattern.

I've seen the Gray handled one online, but I don't think I'll be able to get one at too great of a price... :( I got this one real cheap so plan to get another one just like it, but i don't think the handle color is gonna matter after flame striping... :D

The flamed 630 I've seen online looked pretty awesome. I would be very tempted to do mine that way except for the fact I'm not sure if the ball detent will stay in the frame. Btw, my first 630 is on the UPS truck scheduled to be delivered TODAY!! :D  :D
