coleslaw, It's not ugly, but maybe you could call it "plain". I would call it a "working" knife. One that you're not afraid to use because it might get a water spot on it. It will make a great EDC knife.

I thought this thread was about me. My first wife used to call me that. But your knife looks prettier then me on most mornings. Looks like a real good user knife to me.

I love oak handles. Very traditional. Did you consider making it without the ricasso and plunge line? Just have edge all the way to the back.

I thought about leaving the ricasso out, but I wanted a little something there.

Thanks for the comments. It's all still trial and error and lots of reading at this point.
 
By the way, I had a beautiful hamon on this at one point, but over sanded and generally ruined it. At least I know the Satanite worked as planned and will be better prepared next time.
