Does anyone out there know why plain edge production pieces are so hard to come by? I know that there has been a recent shipment of plain edge commanders sent to dealers, but what about CQC 7's, Specwars, & Ravens? I just picked up a plain edge CQC-7 and it's only the 3rd one that I can remember hearing about. I'm sure that there are more out there. Wouldn't plain edges eleminate one step in the edge grinding process, and in theory, make the knives less labor intensive to make? I for one would love to see more plain edge EKI knives in Dealers hands rather than have to pay full retail for it direct from EKI (So I'm cheap

Tell me about it! I searched high and low earlier this year for a plain/satin Commander, only to find out that they (Emerson) has stopped selling them through distributors and dealers. Sheesh.

I ended up biting the proverbial bullet and paid full retail for mine. Ouch. For some reason, the production Emerson market seems to heavily favor the combo-edge. FWIW, a couple of dealers (i.e. 1SKS) have recently advertised that they have a few plain Commanders in stock, but I suspect these are the Black-T one...
