Plain edge Merlin

Thanks for that Sal. I got sent one by mistake, when I ordered the serrated version. But after a little use, I think that I prefer it.

BTW, I recently got the Spyderco Story book. Fascinating reading. It's really interesting finding out about the design and development of the range of Spyderco products. Good stuff!

I too just got the History Book of Spyderco and it is great. I got to meet Sal at the Blade Show and he sure was a nice fellow. You don't meet many people like him. I just got my first sharpmaker and enjoyed watching Sal sharpen all those knives and stuff on the video. Anyone who owns a knife should have one. I love Spyderco knives (have over 80 in my collection). Keep up the good work Sal.

This may be a dumb question, but I don't know where to ask...

Is there a difference between the "Harpy" and the "Merlin"?

Thanks

Munky, the Merlin uses the same FRN handle as the Delica, whereas the Harpy has a stainless steel handle. I have one of the, now discontinued, G10 Harpies, definitely worth searching for if you're in the market for a hawksbill. BTW I think both the FRN and stainless models now share the same name but I can't recall which one (senior moment, Sal

Take care,

I think the zytel handled model is now the "Harpy lightweight" instead of the "Merlin" as we knew it before...
