Does anyone currently own a plain edge Tanto SOCFK? I am curious because I just received
one from Extreme Outfitters and they told me that it was the only plain edge SOCFK that is
out there. Apparently, it was an odd ball that just happened to arrive the day previous to me calling and asking for one with a plain edge.

As far as I know, the only plain edge SOCFK's were prototypes and those given to the SpecOps guys, plus some very expensive customs. This is one area where Emerson Knives needs to improve - plain edge blades need to be readily available.

Ban,
You are right. There is so far only one plain edge SOCFK with colored blade that anyone knows is out there.

Steve told me that it was sold when I spoke to him recently and can assume it is you who happened to be the lucky one.

There should be some in the works for future as I am lead to understand.
Best wishes,
Oliver

Ban,

Here's a simple solution. Two days after I got my waved CQC-7 I took the satin, plain edge blade and swapped it out with the SOCFK. I call it the FRANKEN-SEVEN.
I have carried it every day since and love it.

That sounds like a great idea!!! I really hesitate to use my SOCFK knowing that it
may be hard to get another one.

I called EKI mid last week and they were out of the plain edge waved CQC7B. Actually, I had originally planned to get a waved CQC7B with the satin finish. Since they were not available I called Extreme Outfitters to see if I can get another blade with the wave feature in plain edge. I guess I lucked out. I did have to pay a little extra for it though. Are waved CQC7B with the satin finish available now?

How does the CQC7B compare to the SOCFK?

thanks!

The Satin waved CQC7Bs were the first ones available and sold briskly.

I am going to release a small article about the history of the SOCFKs, probably in the morning.

The main difference in the two is the body style.

The SOCFK is more comfortable in my hand and offers more precise control. The SOCFK also offers the protection of a partial hilt incorporated into the body.

The CQC7 is sleeker and comes drilled and tapped for tip up or tip down carry.

Both are awesome knives and it basically comes down to preference.

John
