Plain edge vs. serrated Ladybug?

I've read many good and not-so-good opinions about serrated edges. One of which is they're difficult to sharpen.

I've read many good things about the Ladybug, but it comes with a 50/50 serrated edge. Should I let that deter me from purchasing one? Are there other small, pocket-size folding lockers I should be looking at instead?

I just bought a LadyBug. I had stayed away because I prefer plain edges. Now I wish I had bought one sooner

. It only gets used for opening mail and other small jobs. I still prefer plain edge, but will reccomend the LadyBug anyway, it's a great little knife.

theres nothing in its size that can match its useability IMO.

get one withought delay. no excuse for not having one really since the FRN versions usuially found are so inexpensive. ive had one on my keyring for 11 years now. (actually i retired the original last year and replaced it with a CF version)

seems like the only knife i have ever carried that never draws a bad look no matter where its used. (even my blue native gets more second looks.) this by itself should make it an essential "second" knife. it lets you keep the big folder tucked away when your wife finds she has a thread on her shirt needing trimmed in the middle of church service.

You might want to try a Gerber LST 300 sometime. Its a nice little 2" lockback that sells for $5.00 at the local gunshows.
I buy a couple every show and give them to coworkers for their keyrings.

AR15fan, you say:

Is that the MicroLight version, the very small one? I heard the line of Gerber LSTs does not offer thumbnail grooves. Is that true, and if so, how much of a hassel is it?

You can't beat the Ladybug for utility. I've had a carbon fiber version on my keychain for a while, and it gets used almost every day. My wife even carries a red zytel Ladybug. At first, she disliked the idea of carrying a knife in her purse, but the cute little Ladybug won her over.
