just wondering if its possible to do a plain grey coating. the urban camo is awesome, black crinkle coating with a second layer of grey over it, so it wears down in a checkered grey/black, but i wonder if its possible to get just grey?

its not pretty by any means, it would actually make the knife more dull looking, but thats the point. the grey color looks a lot like concrete, and id be interested in seeing how it would look with the steel showing through slightly. with the black coating, and to a lesser extend the green, the difference between open steel and the camo color is very striking, where as with the grey, its there, but it blends a lot better.

just wondering if anyone else would be interested in plain grey as a color option, or if you think it would be a useful camo color?

the grey im talking about -

it would be interesting to see if you could get a patina/rust colored coating... if theres any natural color that blends well with almost anything its rust red/orange/brown.

I wouldn't mind grey, but it wouldn't be my first choice. A deep brown would be nice, as you say.

I love the reprofiling job on the SK!!!! :D

it kind of seemed to be initially sharpened to benefit the coating rather then cutting ability

it was a fast job... parts of it didnt get fully sharpened, though they are sharp enough when leather honed that the edge blends well.

since its so small, its hard to sharpen on an edgepro apex thats had its ledge worn down, and the slight hollow grinding makes it so that the coating is very much in the way of any angle lower then 21 degree's.
