I can get a brand new S45VN Para 3 with standard black G10 scales for 120.00 free shipping. Should I roll with it or hold out for a better steel/more interesting scales?

It's hard to recommend anything with that amount of info, but S45VN is a great all round steel and you can always get after market scales later if you see something you like better than the stock ones.

I still use my S30V Para 3 with camo G10 handles. Great knife so S45VN is a good upgrade IMO.
