Plain Jane with polished blade - anything special about it ?

I understood that the standard large or small Sebenza with plain titanium scales always has a stonewash finished blade and Sebenza with wood or mammoth inlays, as well as with graphics, do carry a polished (satin) blade. Not talking about damascus and insingo blades.

From time to time one or the other plain Jane crosses my way with a polished blade. My questions are: Are those done by special order from dealers? Just because somebody at CRK thought that the polished blade does look nice at at plain Jane (okay. Not a serious answer I guess.)? So where are they coming from and are they somewhat "rare" ?

I don't know that they are more valuable, but definitely less common. Not sure if any dealers carried them( though they could have ordered them if they wanted to), and you could order polished blades direct from CRK.

I once had that configuration, but had to order it like that from CRK.

Let me try.
The Sebenza is a "working knife".
It develops at it's own pace.
During this process, CRK deceided, that a stonewashed blade is the way to go for the basic knife.
This is for practical reasons, i.e. doesn't show scratches easily,...
So the polished blade (imho it is satin finish) has become an extra step in the production process reserved to decorated and inlayed speciems.
It is avaliable on request. There are certain dealers that order them, like some order the knives with silver studs.
So for me it's a matter of personal preference.

It's an option and I have seen them on dealer sites. Not sure if it still is or not. I even had a large regular plain with a polished blade, so it's something that has been around for some time. More valuable...??? I doubt it. I personally wish ALL were stonewashed, even the cgg/ug as they do not scuff up from use like the polished blades do.

IIRC a polished blade used to be an option when ordering a sebenza or as an aftermarket option. It's no longer listed on the price list. Only a "re-polish" is listed.
