I asked this on the CRK section but haven't recieved any responses.

Which is most preferred, the plain or the classic 2000 small Sebenza? Thanks in advance, Dave

Hi Dave,

I have a small Classic sebenza!! I just love it. Apparently the blade design differs from the regular edition. I purchased mine because it was the one the dealer had on the table at the time. Through the pictures I can barely tell the difference between the two. LOL

I prefer the feel of the Classic myself. I like the softer rounded edges. It sort of feels like a half used bar soap in the hand - very easy to hold on to and it has nice gentle lines. The slight flare at each end fits my hand very well.

The plain model is a fine knife as well but, I find the angular cut away for the release a little bit of a drawback. If my hands were bigger or smaller, the feel of the knife would be different and, perhaps it would be my preferred knife.

Which one is preferred? I think it's mostly a matter of personal preference biased slightly by the phyisical attributes of your hand.

Stay Sharp,
Sid

There is a slight difference in the blade shape and handle cutouts, but for the most part is personal preference. Dimensions are just about identical otherwise. Non knife knuts will probably not be able to tell them apart unless they look real closely. Personally I prefer the new blade shape - its less pointy and has a bit more belly.

My recommendation is to either handle both or search for a pic with both knives shown. I remember seeing a pic on the Chris Reeve section of BF - I'll see if I can hunt it down.

Dave, the pic is posted in this link: http://www.bladeforums.com/ubb/Forum29/HTML/000705.html

Hope that helps you make up your mind. And don't worry, whichever one you choose is a good choice

I agree with Red David! Try both of them if you can. I prefer the regular myself, but which ever one you get, they are very well made.

Good luck!
