Plain vs. partially serrated RTAK-2

I bought an RTAK-2 a few days ago. I bought the serrated edge version since it would make it easier to cut rope, etc. Now, I'm having second thoughts about the serrated edge because I lose 2" from the 10" blade and that will limit the size of wood that I can baton. I'll admit that I'm probably overthinking this issue since I usually carry a partially serrated folder or multi-tool with a saw and because I doubt that I will ever try to baton anything that an 8" blade can't handle. I'd appreciate any advice you can give me. Thanks.
