Plain YCS

I will try to check on it in the morning, right now I'm tired, my eyes are bleary and my dayum back's killing me, but I don't know how good it would show up as it's among a few other
khuks.:)
They're in the khonvention pix we finally got back and that I need to put in my computer so I can get them posted.
Most of the pix are just of a table full of knives and one or two that actually have people in them.
I don't take pix that good and usually let Barb do it and she was busy with other things, like food.:)
But I will post the ones we do have. It may take me a day or two if I post them one at a time.
I need to start a website just to have a place to put my pix
huh?:)
I finished up the roll of film by taking pix of a few khukuris at a time so I will have a record of what I have.
And that's something everyone should do if y'all haven't done it.
I know I'm preaching to the chior when I say they, the pix, may be needed for insurance purposes.

Tomorrow I can grab a digital camera and snap a pic of my plain YCS, although I'd still love to see other folks post pics of theirs! I may end up like Yvsa and try to get my hands on a couple more YCS so I can have one to look pretty and one or two for dirty work. Plus I am kinda curious to see how each one differs from the others, since I have noticed some differences in the blade of the one I have and the one that was posted on the website. It's definitely my favorite khukuri so far!

Oh geez... now I know why I get myself in trouble with women...

I haven't even gotten my new girl in and I'm lusting after another already :o .

Uncle... what does one of these demure ladies run?? I think I have to have one....

Alan

$175. I think I have one in stock which has the two kardas and awl. Only differences between it and the bull blown YCS are steel fittings and no inlay in handles.

Hmmm....

I'll get back with you later this week. It'll all depend on checks arriving in the mail

... and of course, food, bills, etc...

Not to mention how much trouble I'll be in when my Mom reads this response :D (hi mom).

Alan

Gee, thanks Blues

However, it is interesting to see two differnt versions of the same model...

There is just enough of a difference to see it, but hard to describe. You know they are the same model... but (I think) made by different kamis :)

That is why I love this place.... you can have the same thing as someone else, but it has its own character and personality :D

Alan

Glad to help, Alan. ;)

Yep, two different kamis. Mine was made by Tsimi's bud, Durba.

I'm out of work right now since Nordam laid me off (aviation industry) so this isn't an order. But I think Bill is saying that the model I wanted all along is available?

That is: "plain YCS" (without yin/yang inserts)
steel furniture
the two Yvsa designed kardas
the Yvsa awl.

Are you saying I can actually get one of those? When I get a job of course! Everybody get out there and get on those planes!!

Gregg

I just can't help lovin' those fully curved khukuris.:)
And I can't help lovin' steel mounted khukuris
either.

. :D

Bro what's the chances of me trading my plain YCS for the plain steel mounted one with all the original tools?

Welcome to the Cantina Justright!!!!:)

WHAT IS YCS???
The YCS stands for Yvsa Cherokee Special. Uncle Bill was most gracious in permitting this rig to wear my name since I designed it,
(meaning I shamelessly copied it from the old style khukuris,;) )carved a wooden model of not only the khukuri, but also both kardas and the 3 cornered awl that comes with it.
The YCS made in steel not only met my expectations it exceeded them.
Sanu copied the model at least at 95% since the only thing that wasn't like the model was more curve in the handle.
The straighter handles are at least 10 times easier to make than a straight handle!!!!
Sanu and the other kamis actually improved the design of the fullers I had on the blade by letting them both extend to the spine of the khukuri.
Dayumed fine khukuri that cuts like a much heavier model due to its weight and blade geometry!!!!
I'm very proud to have been able to be part of the YCS's production and very proud to be able to share the YCS with all my family and friends.:D
