Plainsman has put together a pretty nice forum about survival and wilderness living. These are a couple of threads...with some interesting and well-thought out responses.

(I posted a RAVE about receiving my HI AK, but figured the moderators might think it too much an endorsement and delete it. I was correct.)

It looks like you gave those gents a bit of food for thought. Seems strange that some of them reject a good khuk before they have even had a good one in hand.:)

I can never see me going to a straight blade again. I have not seen one I thought was as proficient as a khuk.

If there were any bugs in the design, 2500 years would have been enough for generations of kamis to "fix" it. Unless we are talking about Microsoft Windows, that is...

That blade design has been around for 2500 years and for one reason only: It works!

at least 2500 years. They were being made for war in the classical ages and before, and the Kopsh, Kopis, or Falcata has been in use in the bronze age, perhaps since 1500 BC, putting the khukuri at about 3500 years old and counting! Knives were being made/used before most of the world had written language (of course the spoken word is much older), you decide which was more important.
