I should add that Bill makes his own damascus and makes his sheaths and takes his own pics.

Bill has been a good friend of mine for a good long while now. In fact, he was very instrumental in my transition from stock removal to forging.

There I was about 22 knowing SOMEDAY I'd want to learn to forge, yet feeling quite comfortable doing stock removal daggers and fighters.

Then I meet Dave Evans and he takes me to this guy, Bill Cottrell's shop, and the pursuit of a "freon tank" forge was underway.

Forging is in my blood now, and I owe a large thanks to Bill for that! :)

I'm confident you cannot find a more giving, warm, and enjoyable person than Bill.

He was not a knifemaker when I first met him, yet rather a life-long boiler maker and hobby blacksmith. He is also one top flight fabricator. If it can be built... Bill can most likely build it!

To see his work grow to this level is simply awesome. (and NO, I am in NO way implying that has anything to do with me).

For those that don't know, Bill is part of the TImascus team. :)

Very cool... thanks for posting these up Dave!   :D

Bill obviously is a talented guy. His nickname is a misnomer:D

Cool that he forges his damascus and takes the time to do nice leatherwork AND his own pics.

Thanks for the show Dave.

Your welcome. Bill is very humble there is nothing plain about him. I think Nick said it well. Thanks Nick

Dave thank you for thinking enough of my work to post it. Knife makers are generally a lonely lot since we spend all our time in the shop working on our passion. I have been blessed with making some very good friends since starting to make knives. I do like to claim sole authorship of my work and doing my own leather is part of it. Leather working helps by doing getting to do something different from all the metal work and is enjoyable. Thanks for the compliments folks. Nick come see us!

plain ol Bill

Bill is a Renaissance Man. He does many things, and he does them all well.

In addition to great looking knives, Bill makes tools. The latest tool he made is a CNC plasma cutting table & torch!
