Hello Busse community, I have been a member here on bladforums and I have just recently found Busse and scrapyard knives. I am looking at getting one in the future but I am still at the saving stage. I have an envelope I am very slowly filling with bills to save for one of the knives and would like some help deciding what to get. I really like the SAR 4, I understand it is hard to find and in the 400 dollar price range. The only thing I am concerned with is the handle size. I am also looking at the scrap yard "yard keeper" which is must less expensive and the scrapper 5. Of the three the SAR 4 is my favorite on looks and specs alone. Any input on the feel of the handle and overall knife would be great and any similar knives I should look at.

-Thanks,

Alex

Get the new Boss Street - it's up for sale now on the Busse Combat website:thumbup:

Welcome!!! s12.aaxtell, If those are the sizes you're interested in, you might just look TWICE at the Boss St. currently available from Busse DIRECT. It's in that size range and is getting really positive reviews. AND, it's going for a STEAL!!!

Thanks Iboschi, I was doing some research on the SAR 4 and I saw the Boss st. and really like the looks of it. But like I said, I do not have the money at the moment ( just got a new toy, an M1 garand). Really tearing me up about that because the price is great on the site. I am thinking (and hoping) that they will be around on the forum by the time I get the money together.

Definitely look at the Boss Street, at $227 is a steal.

Depending on how quick you can save up the $$$ for a BOSS Street, you might want to go ahead and order one.
They usually take 4 to 6 weeks to be ready, and you pay just before they ship. :)

Just a thought.

.

Thank foo, I will definitly keep that in mind. I need to make sure I have enough by the ship date because I do not want to spend money I do not have. That can lead to some trouble, but ill keep adding to my envelope.

Your SAR 4 is around $360, I sold mine a couple of weeks ago on the forum for $350
remember the BATAC is also in that size category and for about the same amout.
good luck, and welcome to Busse. Once you get one, you'll never go back to anything else.

Sell the rifle. :D

Then you can get a BOSS Street and a BWM.

Since the BOSS Street is in current production, it might not be 4 - 6 weeks to deliver after you order. Call or email the Shop, they might be able to estimate the time.

I have an SAR 8 and it is quite comfortable. I have seen some people saying the handle overwhelms the blade of the SAR 4, though.

There definitely seem to be less people with comfort issues with the Boss Street than there are with the SAR 4. Take from that what you will. :)

Good luck with your hunt!

Sell the rifle, is correct! I did and now have a niiiice BATACLE #23. :)
Thanks Jaxx. :)

Haha I have been waiting a long time for this rifle so i cannot see myself selling it, but I will have to look at the BATAc now too. Thank you for the advice on the handle as well.

I am expecting (hoping?) that the BOSS Street will be released in several color combinations and options over the coming months - if it's still available when you get the cash saved up, it's a no brainer. Getting a B.S. at factory prices will put a smile on your face for sure.

Don't forget different thicknesses too.:D:thumbup:

Your profile doesn't say where you're from, so I don't know if this will work for you, but the Blade Show will be in Atlanta in June, and there is Knob Creek in Kentucky in April. Busse always seems to have a great selection for sale at both those events. I'm going to Knob Creek myself, and will feel like a kid in a candy store!

Like everyone says, BOSS Street! You won't have to save long and from the factory at a great price.
