Plans for T tap wrench ?

I'd like to make some good tap wrenches

I'm using Starrett 93C 1/4 to 1/2." range as an example

Unless I spring for Starret brand new tols, the local stores here just have those hardware store quality ones at 3/4 of the starrett price

The Starrett are nice, but I can't find used ones and depending on the source come out to $70 ish with tax and so on

If it goes well, I'd do a few for relatives and friends.

They have this on the website

I was hopint that this is a popular apprentice project and these are published in project books or magazine articles.

I made these tap handles back in trade school, they worked fine besides the fact that they where made of 1018 C.R.S.

Here is a different style if you'd like to try it as well.

I'll see if I can get some normal pictures of the second one, there where a few little things that where left out on the print for some reason.

Let me know if you need bigger uploads of them, and I'll reload them or e-mail the files to you.

Also I have all of the Starrett tap handles, if you hand tap a lot they're worth the money I love mine.

I'd love the bigger views if you can upload or email them.

I do have the smallest 93A, nothing else would hold them.

I'm doing it as more of a project than a practical item.

I plan to use some sort of harden-able steel and HT them, so not cheap compared to the hardware store, but I hope to have something nice when I'm done.

Count, if you are making or going to make folders with screws might I suggest you look at the one USA has for sale that aligns in a drill press but you turn by hand? It's a great tool for doing screws including 0 X 80s.

Thanks frank

I have a little tapmatic that will do 0-80's

I was looking for a wrench that will work for general fabrication with 1/2" threads
